  • - Rose Quartz is known to generally be okay with the light.

    - Extended periods of direct sunlight can cause Rose Quartz to fade.

    - The colour change will not affect the energy your crystal omits, however, keep an eye on them.

    - If you see some colour change that you prefer to avoid, place your stone in a place where there is indirect or dappled light.

Appearances & Origins

Rose Quartz is usually soft in colour, ranging from light pink to medium pink in intensity. Sometimes it can look almost purple or hazy and cloudy in appearance too. It is commonly found as large specimens with no crystal edges and crystallised clusters of this stone are very rare.

This crystal is very common and is found in many countries around the world, specifically in igneous locations. Historically, a symbol for love and beauty, rose quartz has been used as a gemstone and as ornamental objects for thousands of years. Ancient Romans used the stone as a seal to signify ownership.

It was also known as the crystal of Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. In one Greek legend, Aphrodite fought Ares to protect her lover Adonis from dying. Upon leaping forwards, she fell into a sharp briar bush. As she and her lover lay wounded, their blood poured out and stained the white quartz pink. The Egyptians left healing rose quartz masks in the tombs of their Pharaohs so that they would maintain their beauty.

Chakras & Placement

Rose Quartz is well known for aiding unconditional love energy that opens up the heart chakra. The heart chakra is the energetic centre of your body and one of the most powerful links between your spiritual and physical realms.

It converts energy from your lower chakras into subtle thoughts and inspiration. The element of the heart chakra is ‘air’, this air suppresses negative energy, allowing unselfish and unrestrained love to flow. When feeling negative emotions, place rose quartz on your chest to fill your heart space with light, love and magic. It is an ideal crystal to keep in all rooms around the house.

Rose Quartz instils a permanence to one’s loving nature. Placement of it in your environment and wearing or carrying rose quartz will stimulate love.
