What better way to introduce these beautiful plant medicines to you than with some healthy smoothies, mousse and ‘nice cream’ recipes for you all to try! Our in-house Naturopath, Maddie Lewin, has formulated these delicious and energising recipes to have you shining from the inside out. All recipes are vegan and Naturopath-approved!
1. Revitalising Green Smoothie
Moringa: This nutrient-packed leaf, native to India, packs a punch and is a natural energy booster that doesn’t deplete you in the long run. Full of antioxidants, and calming to the digestive system, Moringa powder is a superfood worth adding to your health routine.
Mucuna: Affectionately known as ‘Dopamine Bean’, this plant medicine can naturally boost your mood and energy levels. This powder is the perfect, natural pick-me-up to replace your afternoon sugar or caffeine hit.
- 1 tsp Anima Mundi Moringa Powder or ½ tsp Anima Mundi Mucuna Powder
- 1 cup Baby Spinach
- 1 cup pineapple (chopped)
- 1 tbsp LSA meal
- ½ cup Plant-Based Protein Powder (hemp, chickpea, pea or rice)
- 2 cups Plant Milk (hemp, macadamia, almond, coconut, rice or oat)
- ½ Avocado
Blend up and enjoy first thing in the morning or as an afternoon pick me up for that natural energy boost!
2. Cacao Coffee Mousse
Green Coffee Bean: As this powder contains unroasted coffee beans, the natural metabolism-boosting and fat-burning effects of this plant are at its highest. This powder is perfect to have in the morning or as a natural pre-workout!
- ½ tsp Anima Mundi Green Coffee Bean Powder
- 1 tbsp Cacao Powder
- 1 extra ripe Banana
- ½ Avocado
- 1 cup Plant Milk (hemp, oat, coconut, almond, macadamia)
Blend up until it has reached a thick and creamy consistency. Add this decadent and healthy mousse to pancakes, fruit salad, muesli or enjoy on its own.
3. Creamy Coco PB Smoothie
ASHWAGANDA – This beautiful Ayurvedic root, also known as Withania isone of the best adaptogenic medicines provided by mother nature. Ashwaganda is perfect to balance the body during or after a stressful period. It does not over-stimulate but rather helps the body adapt to stressors and can improve sleep quality.
CORDYCEPS – Used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine, this powerhouse mushroom is praised as a ‘heal all’ medicine. Some of the many benefits of Cordyceps are for combatting fatigue, exhaustion, protecting the liver, improving kidney function and enhancing the libido.
Start your morning on the right foot with this craving fighting, energising smoothie that tastes so good it feels like it should be bad for you.
- ½ tsp Anima Mundi Ashwaganda Powder or 1 tsp Anima Mundi Cordyceps Powder
- 1 sprinkle Cinnamon Powder
- 1 tsp Honey, Maple Syrup or Rice Malt Syrup
- 1 extra ripe Banana
- 1 tsp Flaxseed
- 1 tbsp unprocessed Peanut Butter
- 2-3 cups Coconut Milk
Blend all ingredients into a blender or food processor and enjoy at any time.
4. Antioxidant Nice Cream
Mangosteen & Hibiscus – These two antioxidant-packed plants are both natural sources of vitamin C, are powerful anti-inflammatories, immune system boosters and are fantastic for healthy, glowing skin.
- 1 tsp Anima Mundi Mangosteen Hibiscus Powder
- 2 frozen Bananas
- 1 cup frozen Blueberries
- 4 tbsp Plant Milk (hemp, macadamia, almond, coconut, rice or oat)
