Amethyst takes many different formations including geodes, clusters, tumbled stone and rock. In nature, it sometimes forms in combination with other minerals. The best way to judge the quality is to look at how deep the hue of purple is. Bacchus sent tigers upon Amethyst in a drunken rage and just as the tiger went to bite down Amethyst was turned swiftly into a Crystal. The Tigers lost some teeth and Bacchus lost his mojo and in his remorse swore to Amethyst he would no longer overindulge.
